Weight

Weight will be an important property to consider in this design. The material you choose should be as light as possible without losing any strength. This may mean choosing a material more exotic than steel. For example, you may consider aluminum or, if cost is no issue, titanium. This will be a decision you need to make before you start designing the final product.
