2016

  • Jess Spoll has passed her final thesis defense and graduate with a B.S. in Engineering Science and Mechanics. Congratulations to Jess!

2015

  • Huilong Hou has defended his Ph.D. thesis, titled Nanoscale Nickel-Titanium Shape Memory Alloys Thin Films Fabricated by Using Biased Target Ion Beam Deposition. We would like to extend congratulations and welcome Dr. Huilong Hou as a post doc researcher with the group. Congratulations Huilong!
  • Jessica Spoll has joined the group as an undergraduate student, working on her thesis. Welcome, Jess Spoll!
  • Asheesh Lanba has defended his Ph.D. thesis, titled NiTi-based Shape Memory Alloys: Relating Physical Deformation Mechanisms and the Wide Hysteresis and now assumes the status of Dr. Asheesh Lanba. We would like to wish Asheesh many congratulations and luck on all of his future endeavors.
  • Nick Costa has passed his final thesis defense and graduate with a B.S. in Engineering Science and Mechanics. Congratulations to Nick!
  • Beth Bimber attended the Materials Science and Technology 2015 conference, held in Colubus, OH. Beth presented her work on additive manufactured NiTi shape memory alloys at the conference. Congratulations Beth!

2014

  • Nicholas Costa has joined the group as an undergraduate student, working on his thesis. Welcome, Nick Costa!
  • Huilong Hou and Beth Bimber attended the Materials Science and Technology 2014 conference, held in Pittsburgh, PA. Both Huilong and Beth presented their work at the conference. Congratulations to Huilong and Beth!

2013

  • Beth Bimber has passed her Candidacy Exam in December, 2013. Congratulations!
  • Asheesh Lanba, Huilong Hou, and Beth Bimber attended the Materials Science and Technology 2013 conference, held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Each student presented their work at the conference. Congratulations to everyone!
  • Beth Bimber has been awarded the 2013 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRFP) for her research on additive manufactured NiTi shape memory alloys under the guidance of Dr. Hamilton. Congratulations to Beth!

2012

  • Alpar Turk has joined the group as an undergraduate research assistant. Welcome, Alpar Turk!
  • MAML graduate student Asheesh Lanba attended the conference on Engineering Materials: Evaluation, Flaw Detection and Processing, which was held in the South Dakota State University on May 16. In the conference, he made a presentation, “Localized Strain Morphology during the Martensitic Transformation in trained Shape Memory Alloys”. Congratulations to Asheesh!
