Location and Accommodations

The program will be held at the Penn State University Park campus. The campus is in the center of the state, fifteen miles south of Interstate 80, on Routes 26 and 322 (Directions and maps will be sent to you with your registration materials).

American, Delta, and United Airlines serve the State College/University Park Airport, located three miles from the course site. Rental cars, limousines, and taxi services are available at the airport.

If you are planning on parking on Penn State University Park campus, you will have to visit one of the kiosk booths or contact a transportation officer to obtain a visitor's parking pass to park at the Earth and Engineering Sciences Building.

Participants are encouraged to stay at the Hyatt Place hotel in State College because many of the short course activities will take place at that facility (including evening presentations and lab discussions). The Hyatt Place hotel is located a block away from the University Park campus. This new high-rise hotel in State College offers a free breakfast, easy access to the lecture/lab facilities and downtown State College. You will need to call Mike Belchin (Hyatt Place Sales manager) directly at 814 862-9811 (this is his direct line) to book a room at our group rate of $119 or if you are a government employee for the $103 rate (government employees only, a government ID will be needed at check-in). Room reservations are on a first come first served basis.
